PLAN AHEAD – DO YOUR RESEARCH
We all know you already have your wedding mood board at this point and you already pinned different styles of wedding dresses on Pinterest but before booking your bridal appointment, there are other important things you need to do as well aside from searching your wedding dress inspirations.
First, visit the website and the social media platforms of the bridal store you are considering. Bridal stores usually post their wedding dress collections online, from there you can already pre-pick dresses you like to try. The store might also be offering promotion on the month of your visit. You don't want to miss that!
Know the timeline, ordering process, and payment options of the store. Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Set your budget (we think this is the most important one) and be clear with your bridal consultant about it. We don’t want you to break your heart by loving a dress above your budget. Make sure to consider the other fees as well; shipping fee and taxes. Always remember, alterations fees are always on top too!
COME TO YOUR BRIDAL APPOINTMENT READY AND BE ON TIME
Choosing your dress is an important decision to make so you need to be emotionally and physically ready on the day of your bridal appointment. Have a good night's sleep the day before and don’t skip breakfast or any meal before your appointment. Bridal dress shopping is fun but can be exhausting too! Lastly, be on time. Bridal appointments have time duration so make sure you’re not late for your appointment.
WEAR THE PROPER UNDERGARMENTS
Wearing the proper undergarments during your appointment is a MUST. Nude and seamless underwear are recommended. If you’re thinking of wearing a spanx on your wedding day, we highly suggest bringing it to your bridal appointment. Most of the dresses come with built-in pads so you don’t really need a bra when trying on dresses but if you're more comfortable wearing one, we recommend a strapless bra.
WEAR MINIMAL MAKE-UP
We know that this is a special day and you want to look as close as possible to how you look during your wedding day but only wear minimal make-up. This is to help keep the bridal dresses clean and pristine.

BRING THE RIGHT CREW
It may sound fun to go bridal shopping with your whole party BUT! Trust us, the more people you bring, the more opinions you’ll get. Too many opinions can confuse you and can be overwhelming. At the end of the day you are looking for your wedding dress. Only bring the people you trust and are excited to go dress shopping with you!
TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
Bridal dress shopping only happens once in a lifetime! So don’t forget to take photos and videos. If not for the gram do it for THE wedding journey memories!

IT’S JUST A NUMBER
Bridal sizing is different from the usual street size. It runs up to three sizes up from your usual size. If you are a size 10 regularly you can be bridal size 14-16. Every designer’s size chart is different as well, so your size can change in every designer or bridal brand too. Don’t worry about the sizing. It is just just a number.
STAY OPEN MINDED AND TRUST YOUR BRIDAL CONSULTANT
Trust and be honest with your bridal consultant. Share with them how you envision your look on your wedding day. Share the styles you want and don’t want to try. Think of them as your best friend – this will help you feel relaxed and feel less nervous. Your bridal consultant will guide you all throughout your bridal dress journey. If this is your first time trying on wedding dresses, we recommend you to try different silhouettes. Stay open minded because you’ll never know if you’ll like a dress until you try it on!
DON’T BE AFRAID TO SAY YES TO THE DRESS
If you feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath, close your eyes and imagine your wedding day. If you can see yourself wearing the dress on the day of your wedding, ask yourself – “What’s stopping me?” If you're still not sure and you need to sleep on it. That’s totally okay! But always remember whatever dress you are going to pick, you're going to look beautiful on your wedding day! We always say this to our brides; the other stuff at your wedding is just extra. What's important is you and your husband to be. If you know it is your dress, don’t be afraid to say YES.
